Regulators, segregated accounts, compensation schemes — the safety architecture that sits underneath every retail platform.
Why regulation matters
Regulation exists to protect retail clients from insolvency, misrepresentation, and outright fraud. It also constrains what a broker may advertise, how leverage may be offered, and how client funds must be held. Any educational review of IFCM Invest or another platform should begin with the regulatory question.
Tiered regulation
Not all regulators are equal. Tier-1 authorities — the FCA in the United Kingdom, ASIC in Australia, CySEC in the European Union, the CFTC in the United States — impose the strictest capital, conduct, and reporting requirements. Offshore regulators typically impose less.

Segregated accounts
Client money segregation means that client deposits are held in a separate bank account from the broker's operational funds. In the event of insolvency, segregated funds are not part of the general estate. Whether segregation is genuinely enforced depends on the jurisdiction and audit regime.
Compensation schemes
Some jurisdictions operate compensation schemes that reimburse retail clients up to a stated limit if a broker fails. This is a meaningful safety net — and it is a question every independent research review should ask about IFCM Invest and any peer platform.
